Question Chrome silver

Hello, what is the difference between chrome and silver wheels. Other then the chrome being shiner and more expensive. Just wondering any ideas?

Chrome

Silver

chrome is reflective, [cheap] mirror-like. silver is 'matte'

stick with a solid, less blingy coat

Look at these images, taken last weekend

My X5 has those wheels in silver, installed last Friday. I chose the silver finish instead of chrome, (which I think really, REALLY looks like it was on sale at WalMart.) The silver has a much classier look.
