moisture=creak

Like many other people here, I have had many rattles from my trunklid. I have spent countless hours, trying different ways to silence the rattle. I was able to adjust everything so that there are no continuous rattles. However, I have noticed that since I moved to the bay area from the desert, that whenever there is a lot of moisture in the air, I am getting creaking from the trunk area, sounds like someone is stepping on a loose floorboard. Whenever it stops raining for a few days, and the air dries out, the car goes silence again. Does anyone else have a similar problem, or any suggestions other than make adjustments and see if it goes away? Thanks.

It's not as much the amount of moisture, but more of a temperature thing. It's the expansion and contraction of all those rubber pieces that makes or doesn't make the rattles that you're hearing. My car always rattle more when the temperature dips and then everything quiet up once the temperature gets back to the normal So. Cal 75Fs.
