Hid lighting help

Ok got the lights installed but am having some problems.

I replaced my low beams, with 6000ks and when i turn the lights on, the low beams do not go on, instead i get an error message. But then if i turn them off and turn them on again, they do go on, no error message.

Also, With the fogs, got them to run perfectly but then after 3-4 minutes one turned off. When i turned the fog lights on and off again, it would turn on for a second and then turn off. No the one side wont even power on at all.

Any help would be great.

did you originaly have xenon ?
BMW Check Control will power the source then cut the power if something is wrong, like to low power consumption or so, you can usualy buy aditional cable from your balast suplier to trick the car system

even when only upgrading the bulb? i'm pretty sure there are a couple of members here who have just upgraded from 4300k to 6000k

Oh and i think i found out that the fogs were not working because i didnt hardwire the wires correctly. I just put male/female connectors instead of sodering the wires.

looks like 6000k should work.

NOVAX5 has them.

Not sure what else to try, went out to the x tonight to try again and now there just flickering on for a second and not turning on at all.

ahhh no headlights on the x right now, need to figure this out.

You might have faulty bulbs that the ballast just simply can't ignite them or keep them on.

If you have factory xenon then you can change lamps to 6000k no problem there. You can get problems if you go from stock 35w to aftermarket 50w, make sure your lamps are 35w, color temperature does not matter. As for the fogs, since there is no factory xenon there you will most likely nead the aditional cable or make your own with resistence and relays
