New 4.8is Owner

Hi All,
Just wanted to introduce myself. I just picked up an 05 4.8is this past Friday. It has a silver exterior with a Cream Interior. Picked her up with 38k miles on the clock, CPO warranty and service for another 12k miles.
I was previously in the BMW world with an E46 M3 for 2 years, then I had an FX45 for about 9 months, and most recently a Lexus LX470 for about a year. The itch to get back to BMW was irresistable and after one drive in this monster of a truck I was SOLD!
The looks, sound and speed are just intoxicating. The brakes are outstanding as well, and I just love the fit and finish. The interior is really unique and as one friend and BMW mechanic put it, the color is nice and obnoxious ( in a good way). It offsets the dark wood and black interior pieces very nicely!
I will try and get some decent pics up soon!

Oh, and I know Avanti from back int he day, and it was just a VERY ODD coincidence that we both just got these.

Crappy Blackberry Pics

Welcome aboard!...what are your thoughts on the comparisons between the 4.8iS and the FX45? I have a friend with an FX45 and is convinced that he'll leave my Dinan S2 and and another friends 4.8iS (with Dinan mods) in the dust. We'll be heading to the track sometime this summer to put an end to this.

Oh and may the mod bugs bite you really hard in the ass!

Its been a while since I drove the FX. But the only thing I see the FX having over the X5 is the back up camera. The FX is nice, but the 4.8is will smoke it imho

another pic with crackberry at the dealer..

and one more of the fat arse :-)

Was it originally a US car?

Pretty rare to have individual leather...

Yep. And to be honest, im not 100% positive its individual, need to go see if i have the individual placquerd on it. I was told by a BMW mechanic that it is, and I have not seen it as an option on any other x3 other than European ones..

Can anyone here verify that the Champaign was a standard option for 05 4.8is?

Ive seen that interior on other 4.8 on ebay and none of them mentioned being individual so its hard to say either way. It definitely looks nice. enjoy your ride dude.

Looks like Creme Beige to me (someone correct me if I have the wrong name)
Although it's a rare option, it is not Individual.
Nonetheless, congrats! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL ride!
