Yes. Worth it without a doubt.
The price is fair.

Maybe, imo...
are you really going to need/get two brake jobs in the next two years? The rest of the stuff covered is at most, two oil changes, and then add in one brake job. Maybe the hose/coolant/dreaded oil seperator situ tilts it toward yes... Close call, IMO. But, if you are definitely keeping the carthrough the end of the CPO warr. then maybe the ext Maint is a feel good/good deal for you. Not a definite, imo...a maybe. Your pick. GL,mD

keep in mind that oil change intervals from BMW is every 15K, you cannot go there every 3K, 5K or whenever you wish. They would wait every 15K, so that would mean 2 oil changes in 2 years, which would cost you under $200 if you do DIY.
As for the brake job, unless you like applying the brakes all the time, you cannot have 2 brake jobs in 2 years. And if you do that yourself, its not gonna cost you that much. Those are just two things. But if you think you're gonna be spending more than what they charge you for 2 years, then do it. In my case, i didnt and its not worth it. Lastly, i wouldn't go to a dealer that doesnt treat me nice, i am not giving them my money so i can be treated like you own a 1960, rusty chassis VW bug. |

I am not really sure if it is worth it. It depends on how much you can and want to do yourself. If you do not want to touch the car yourself, then it is probably worth it.
I have a 4.4 at the dealer for a fuel pump today and they called me and told me my brakes were shot (no indicator light came on ). I know there isn't much left on them regardless, so I ordered the parts today for a DIY. The dealer quoted me $1,200 for a full brake job. No thank you. I bought the parts for only $420 and they are good quality Centric rotors and Axxis XBG pads. If you are a DIY sort of person you can save a lot of money doing the general maintenance yourself. Especially with all of the great advice and how-to articles on this site.

Is $1900 for the extended maintenance too much??? My SA told me that the 60k service is extensive and costs about $840 and the estimated two additional oil change would be $340 each. My brakes were replaced 5k miles ago (currently at 46k) and will need at least 2 more brake replacements till 100k. He added up so that I would save about $600.
Does this sound right to you guys? |

well, if you have until 100K, and if the cost of oil change is $340 at 15K intervals, you are entitled to 3 oil changes, which totals to $1,020. (just so you know, oil change will cost you less than $100 if you DIY it and takes not more than 30 mins.)
Brakes job, let's say $600 for your remaining one plus the 60K service, i guess i would say, it's worth it! |

Sounds like stlr margin sales pitch bs to me. Though, if the 2Gs, incl. tax,
offers a level of comfort then that ExtMaint might be worth it to you. The "60K" Insp II is a "put it on the lift for an hour and see what we can rip", if off warranty, or do little, if on warranty. It's an oil change and "inspection". I doubt you will get, or need, "at least two 2 more" brake jobs in in the next 50K, but maybe you are doing serious stop and go... the first "signal" should have been the "$600" you would "save" smoothly delivered by the "SA". No dis to you and no arm wrestle: as I said in the topic sentence, if it offers you comfort/peace of mind, for 2Gs, go get it. Is it a great deal? Naw...but, ok deal. My Qtr's run through the JukeBox...Good jump in, question-wise, on this thread...I like injection posters. GL,mD Quote:
