Update Tranny Issue

Well, after taking my 2005 4.4i X5 back to the dealer after their second attempt at updating the software of the tranny and it not working, they have my car for at least a week. Today I was told the BMW NA has asked them to replace the ignition coils to the motors as this may be causing the transmission to shift abnormally. Anyone have comments as to such?

So, the so called BMW specialists have no idea what is wrong with your transmission? I wonder why they charge so much per hour.

Tell me about it! Luckily, they are handling as warranty work since the problem began just at the 50k marker. I think it has to be the transmission since the problem was getting worse and in different shifting positions...I'd call that tranny issue???
