A/c went kapoot..

I am going to have my better half replace the fsr. I hope that's the problem. I am bummed I just bought the darn thing. I know it's used but it has low miles, yada yada yada. Anyone have problem with the a/c and replaced the fsr did it fix all problems?

Oh and my husband saw that the front axle is split and something or another needs to be replaced. I haven't bought an ext warranty yet, guess I better get cracking.

If you would provide more details we may be more helpful. For starters, what year and engine, and milage. As for the AC, kapoot is not a good discription. Does it not blow air at all? Is it warm, or modulating? it the comperssor turning? have you checked the fuses?

Same for the axle. What exactly is split in detail?

PS, I wear Wranglers.

Generally, the symptom of the final stage resistor is modulating air flow. If you are not getting any air, you should first check all of the related fuses (check the manual for location) and if they are OK than move on to the FSR. Does the fan blow at all?

Any word on the "split axle"?

The fan is not blowing at all. The back vents are fine. I should check the fuses. I thought from what I read it was the fsr. OK let me check the manual.

Yeah it's the front outer cv joints that are cracked and need to be replaced.

Well, good luck, it may just be a fuse, or the FSR, if it's the blower that will be more expensive.

The CV boots are relatively inexpensive if the boot cracks have not allowed the CV joints to become contaminated.

Don't be too bummed. You'll solve these problems and have a great reliable ride for many years.

Happy Easter!

It's prolly your final stage resistor if the back vents are fine, common problem with the X. Amost no air comes out of the vent eventhough you hear the blower. Quick fix!

Did you ever replace your FSR? I purchased a new one but it wasn't what I needed, so it's for sale for what I paid..

I have the new fsr, waiting for hubby to install it. The air started working again though.
