New to the board
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to say a quick hello as I'm new to BMW's and the X5. I recently purchased a 2001 X5 4.4i SP with about 35k miles on it to replace my Toyota Tundra. I was finding the lack of passenger space overwhelmed my need to tow things and haul things in the bed, so I opted for an SUV (SAV, I reckon). I've had a lot of different cars over the years, and I'm very happy so far with my new X5. I'm about to take the X5 to the dealer for the first time for a few fixes and I was wondering if I should have them do anything else while I'm there. Here's what I need to have done: 1) Left headlamp has condensation in it 2) Driver door has loud rattle over bumps. That's all that I can figure the dealer will actually fix, but I have a few more things I might ask them about. Any input you all can provide would be great. 1) Chips in interior door pulls (the FAQ's say to talk to the dealer, will they actually replace them?) 2) The wood finish in the passenger front door is cracked. I can't imagine how such a well-cared for car would have this happen. Can this be a workmanship defect? Are there any TSB's I should have them do while I'm there? The dealer is The BMW Store in Cincinnati, OH if anyone has any experience that would be great! Look forward to hearing back, Scott
