door lock problems

Recently I had to take apart the driver side door to replace the window regulator. When I put it back together the rest of the car would lock automatically but the drivers side door would only lock with the turning of the key. now that to door is apart again it won't even let me push the lock down. It almost knows that the door is apart. Any ideas on whats going on?

Check the connection for the power window. There are 3 connectors. One of the connectors might have rust/corrosion/dirt or not be plugged in all of the way. I had the exact same issue when it was apart. Trust me, that is your problem.
