New brakes for my 4.8is...
My question is, would it be better/cheaper to go with aftermarket rotors and pads instead of OEM rotors and pads? If so, what's available? I really want slotted rotors, too! Thanks guys! |

yeah, but I need brake to clear winter wheels.... I was thinking along the lines of brembo replacement rotors with some nice pads... but I don't think brembo makes replacement rotors for the X...

Bavarian Autosport has slotted rotors for the 4.8is, but they were about the only place I could find them. I didn't realize how much more limited your aftermarket choices are for rotors compared to the 3.0/4.4.
http://www.bavauto.com/shop.asp I bought Centric rotors for my 4.4 from Zeckhausen, but I don't think they offer rotors for the 4.8is. OEM may be your best bet. You probably aren't going to notice much difference between OEM and slotted rotors anyway and since you are running winter wheels a big brake kit is out.
