Tone of C# I think

Yeah, I'm no musician, but I changed my front brake pads and rotors a couple months ago and when slowing to a stop at a light I'll hear the tone of brake pad music. It's getting annoying.....

What can I do to eliminate it?

A C# note usually means you need to bed the pads. If it was D-flat then you need to change the rotors.

Seriously, were there any instructions for bedding in the pads? A bit of noise is normal for some type of pads if you didn't follow the bedding procedure. Or it could just be some dirt on the pads from handling them.

Do you know what kind of compound the pads are? I had a similar problem after installing new rotors and metallic pads on the front as well. Just as you come to a stop it would start to sing....tried everything to get it to stop. I eventually got fed up and ordered the Akebono Euro Ceramic Pads off of tirerack , and the fat lady has yet to open her mouth. I have those pads on the front and rear now; they're for the most part "dust free", quiet, but are a bit less grabby compared to the OEM pads, but still have plenty of stopping power!

That doesn't surprise me. Metallic pads are usually noiser.

Ok, thanks guys....... I think the pads are semi metallic. Probably why sometimes it will sing and then it won't.
I'll check out those pads on tire rack.

I tried to bed the pads after installing by getting up to about 60 mph and hitting them hard for a fast stop w/o engaging the ABS.

Am I correct in this method?

There's more to it than that. It's a sequence of steps designed to gradually heat up the rotor and pads. See here.
