Does the same kit fit sport seats - does anyone know? This would be a nice addition to my rig, but the sport seats do not seem to have much room under there.

Yep, you are correct. They DO fit in the sport seats. Spent loys more time hunting for the proper fasteners than installing the kits . . . .
Thanks for the tip.

First aid kit fasteners
Thanks, all, for the info and tips. I jumped at the kits and found the following:
1) the kits are easily obtainable from your dealer 2) as noted above, the parts list does not specify or recommend fasteners 3) holes in the under seat frames are 5mm (SAE: 3/16), and as noted above, not threaded 4) fasteners longer than 9mm (SAE: 7/16) will jam against and interfere with operation of the adjustable bolster on front edge of Sport seats, rendering the bolsters inoperable 5) spent 8-9 hrs in various parts/auto supply houses looking for plastic fasteners to fit - unsuccessfully 6) with assistance from a great parts guy, Andy Ucci, at Towne BMW in Clarence, NY (suburb of Buffalo), found that BMW P/N# 51-16-8-220-001 works as if these fasteners were made for this particular job. They are 5mm self tappers, 9mm long, with 10mm hex head and self washers 7) installation takes 5-6 minutes using a 1/4" drive ratchet handle or straight handle driver. Piece of cake!

First Aid kit contents
As the final step in this add-on, I searched for and found a first aid "filler" kit that nicely fits into the odd shaped space of the BMW underseat part. The kit comes from BMW without contents, and it is up to the buyer to fill the kit with whatever he/she thinks is needed to provide first aid for cuts and injuries when needed.
I found on line and bought one "Small Trifold with supplies - Red", item/part # 911-91511-111 from Fieldtex Products, Rochester, NY. Telno 585-427-2940, or online at <Fieldtex.com>. The kit is wrapped in a red canvas (therefore flexible enough to fit into the black plastic BMW kit) folder with three zippered net envelopes inside. It is shown on the site at 5 1/2" wide, larger than the 4 3/4" space in the BMW part, but because it is soft and flexible, it can be folded over enough to fit into the BMW part. It fits snugly, ergo no rattles! Price with supplies is $23.75 + tax and shipping. If you are looking to fill your new underseat first aid kit with the necessary items, take a look at a/o try this kit. Good luck.

Closure on this little tale:
I originally got a first aid kit from someone on eBay, but it was off another model (can't remember what) that the guy thought would fit an X5. It didn't. I found one on LeatherZ.com that fit perfectly. Easy installation. Those interested in a little enclosed storage box under the seat(s) should check it out.

Don't know the dimensions of a PS2, but the box I got is 3.5 inches tall, and 10.25 inches wide (per the LeatherZ website; I haven't measured mine).
