Water leak from glove compartment

Search quite a few forums and haven't seen this kinda problem yet, so hopefully you folks may have some insight. On rainy days, my front passenger side floor mat gets soaking wet from water dripping from the rear right corner of the glove compartment . Thankfully, everthing in the immediate vicinity is dry ( the fuse panel especially...whew! ). No water is actually dripping into the glove compartment itself. Just seems to come around that corner of the glove compartment near the back closest to the door.

Checked the door seals and I don't see any evidence of water getting past them. Is this related to that leaking sunroof problem I keep seeing?

Read thru a couple of more threads talking about that little nipple thingy right beneath the front doors with the little flap of rubber cover it. Apparently this is the sunroof drain. Anyhow, I fired up my compressor attached the blower nozzle to the hose and shoved it up in there and blew it out. Blew a lot of water out the drain hole up on the sunroof. Anyhow, this last downpour didn't get any water on my floormats. Looks like this fixed it!

This has been a big problem with a lot of X5's. Sunroof drain tube in the A-pillar is crimped shut. My X is at the dealer for the second time for this problem, and shop foreman said it's very common. If you carefully pull the A-pillar (windshield pillar) cover off, check the front sunroof drain tube. Be careful though- there's a airbag behind it too.

The first time I was getting water on the floor, foreman told me how to pull the cover off to look at the hose. It was crimped 3/4 shut and would back up whenever it rained hard. Sunroof pulled out and new drain tube installed. Fixed? No, it started leaking again last week. I pulled the cover and could see that whoever put the cover back on at the dealer installed it incorrectly and the reinforcement ribs molded on the back of the trim had again pinched the new hose almost all the way shut. So sunroof is again out and waiting for a new hose to show up at the dealer.

Pretty easy to pull the cover off. In the middle of the cover is a small oval plastic plug (says SRS or airbag or something like that) that just pops off. Under it is a small torx- T20 or 25 I think. Pull the torx out and the cover will slip free. Check the condition of the hose for any imperfections.
