I think that the cars are created for riding on them but cars should not ride on us.
With regret I am saying I lost so much health with this car, so I will not even approach to the BMW showroom in the nearest future...
Good luck for everyone.
Just don't buy a Camry. They are made in Australia, and are the most soulless car on the road. Get a Commodore/Statesman (Chevrolet Lumina) instead. If you like driving, they'll be a far better car.

respect your opinion but driven and owned 3 BMW cars in my life for a decade now with no major issues just a leaking coolant with JUST one of them, i would say i would stick with BMW. In my case, it has proven that it has been created for riding and they have never ride on me. I am so anal and prompt when it comes to maintenance so it kinda prevents me i guess from dealing with major issues. GL on selling that and enjoy your Camry!

What issue are you having with your brakes that can't be easily resolved? BMW brake systems are typically good and aren't usually a common complaint. Other than people complaining about dust issues.

having brake problems? That makes it a bad car? Hmm....so when lambo, porsche, lexus have brakes problems, does it make them bad cars as well? Problems sometimes can be a cause of the following: depends on how you take care of your car, if replaced recently, depends on how the tech installed them, depends on how you use it and drive your car.

Keep in mind though, i have 104K on my X, and never had any issues with brakes even after the first replacement. Never had problems with other stuffs other than a small coolant leak. So whatever happens to you doesn't necessarily mean that it happens to all owners. So since i have reached this far, does my car still a bad one?

amacman, Your car also could have been a private sale - and it all depends on how it was taken care of before you. I think this board is proof enough they are good cars.

its not really the brakes persay, its an electronic gremlin that caused the left front wheel to brake when driving, for no apparrent reason and brake system malfunction warning lights remained illuminated until mobile specialist technician tested car with g1 diagnostics connected to obd. g1 indicated fault with left front wheel speed sensor, fault code deleted from car computer,so bmw dealer not able to find true source of malfunction and refusing to replace sensor under bmw warranty.i have lost confidence in bmw .my car is 2002 x5 4.4i sport auto, nice driving machine ,well engineered, but many electrical and electronic problems are irritating ,also dangerous.I understand that bosch electrics are the source of problems, possibly caused by dust and moisture ingress to connectors and components.I previously owned 1997 740i auto that also had electronic malfunctions. also owned 1999 318i,now also own 2004 x3 30i auto.all of these cars suffered water ingress.x5,740i,318i all suffered coolant leaks that dealers were unable to find source of,i had to find source of leaks myself, which was not difficult, surprising when you take into account that my engineering prowess is more heath-robinson than hi-tech. anyhoo, the 740i will not ron on all 8 cylinders when cold, makes wierd howling sound when its almost warm and runs perfectly when it has warmed properly, perhaps that shall remain a mystery for evermore as the best minds that i can find do not understand what is wrong with it.i spend much time talking to bmw on the tellingbone but rarely get solutions to problems.maybe, just maybe there is some-one out there with the knowledge to help solve electronic issues.
