how old was ur x when you got rust

I have an 01, and on the hatch it has rust on both sides to the left of the left, as well as in the door seam starting. Going to get it repaired, since its past the warranty period.

No rust here. but I do live in FL, so there is no salt to accelerate it happening.

This may be a very dumb question or an old wives tale, but can't the salt from the ocean accelerate paint wear/rust issues if you live near the water?
