how old was ur x when you got rust

i heard volvo gives rust protection for 16 yrs and their cars go upto 600k

will the x do the same

After 82K, no rust at all - except for the brake rotors after the X sits parked for a few weeks!

I purchased my used 2003 X5 last year. It had a quarter size rust spot on the inside of the rear lower hatch, near the hinge. BMW wouldn't cover it because the rear bumper had been touched up from some parking scratches. Cost me $300 to have it sanded and painted.

Gotta agree. I didn't think this was even an issue anymore. I would bet the majority of people who experience rust problems is because of an underlying issue like paint damage, accident repair, etc.

i thought bmw were good for not rusting, but i got rust in the door seam.....bmw will fix under warranty but wtf

I think everyone on the board takes good enough care of their vehicles that they wont rust. As long as you wash often and wax a few times a year the chances of getting rust are pretty slim.
