Fading Pixel

Folks, X5 (MY2001, 3.0i, 81k miles) instrument cluster pixel fading, starting from around the outside temp indicator. Question: seems to hear BMW provides a replacement cluster (mostly free part but you pay labor). Anyone has any experience w/ that? Thanks.

Thank you for the pointer. I'm also going to search for posts to see if there are procedures for instrument cluster removal, because the fading pixel is probably a result of a dead light bulb (as opposed to dead pixel) which BMW NA may not wish to honor.
