Differential and transfer case fluid change
I have an 01 X5 3.0. I want to change my differential and transfer case fluid after reading the Fluid Maintenance Schedule from the front page. I tried to look for some DIY instruction but could not find any for the X5. It appears that many folks here have done these procedures and are very knowledgeable about the procedures. Can anybody here give me some pointers please?
The closest instruction I could find is from this link: http://www.unofficialbmw.com/e36/dri...id_change.html Thank you. Justin. |

Those are pretty good instructions for the differentials. You have to remove the aluminum skid plate to get at the front differential which took more time than changing the fluid. The transfer case is accessible but takes different fluid. http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...id-change.html , Good luck.
