Looking to build a custom subwoofer enclosure

I'd like to build or have built a custom enclosure that will hold 3 12" subs in the rear. Has anyone on here built one? I don't want it to be in the way of the back seats reclining so it will be somewhat tricky.... Just trying to use the power of the amp that I have from my 330ci system.

it would be easy enough using MDF and fibreglass, but you can kiss goodbye to your trunk

you can remove the spare tire and use that space for three sub's.

I mean seriously, why would anyone want 3 12" subs.
The thought of that much bass is absolutely illogical.

How old are you????

My single 10" sub can generate enough pressure to hurt my ear drum if I dial it up. I never understood why anyone would want that much SPL going through their skulls.

The only way you can possibly do this and retain the folding rear seat function is to remove the spare tire and use that air space to build your enclosure.

Why cant you just sell the amp you have and pick up something more suitable for your x5? Or pick up a single sub instead? How much RMS power does this amp push out?

No, it is not.
  • My big house does nothing to offend anyone else - except maybe through jelousy.
  • My fast car is used on the track - if I use that power on street where others can be injured then your analogy fits.
  • My big steak sits peacefully in my own stomach - not hurting anyone else unless I convert it to gas and release it in public.
The only use for such a system is to annoy the hell out of other people who don't want to hear that crap. Now, if he only used it in a sound proof garage, then he is entitled to blast it as loud as he wants. But we all know that it is going to be thumping up and down the streets.

Why can't people realize that they are not entitled to disturb the peace.
