My mechanic just told me he replaced the MAF this morning, fired right up. He let it run for a little bit, then test drove it, engine service light blinked while driving and died in 3 miles from the shop. Will start but not turn over?

No Charge....MAF was replaced in Aug 07
But my dealer (Wagner BMW) was a little confused about the DINAN MAF Housing until I pointed out that the actual sensor was still the factory one they replaced last year but in a different housing....BTW...My BMW dealer is awesome, they are just not an authorized DINAN dealer

I had a similar issue with my 4.4 last summer. CPS. Bought the part, changed it out myself. 10 Minutes, in and out.

Child Protective Service....... no.
Camshaft Position Sensor.... I think you have two of them Intake and Exhaust. |

Just for clarification: I ended up doing the Intake side CPS only, so I can't speak to the difficulty of doing the Exhaust side.
