2.99 gas gauruntee?

I'm not in the market for a Dodge, but i've been seeing all these commercials for a $2.99 gas gauruntee for 3 years for anyone who buys a new dodge? How's that work? Just curious...

And I paid $4.09 at the pump today for premium.. Agh!!!

They give you a credit card to charge gas on, but when the bill comes it's only for your portion of the cost ($2.99 gallon). There is a limit though, like 10-12K miles per year, and other stipulations to avoid abuse, including only the octane the vehicle requires (allegedly).

We were discussing it on another forum and basically it was the equivalent to a $2000-2500 cash incentive.

I saw a report about Hybrid sales going up by more than 25% because the cost of gas. So I guess for people who focus on cheap gas versus being green or reducing dependency on foreign oil, then this should help with sales.
