trunk lid lights on my x5 2000 4.4i
so, anyone ever noticed, that if you open the back of the trunk lid (as if you were to replace a back-up light bulb) there's an extra spot, that looks like you can add a bulb socket? like it's ready to be cut-out? did my car not come with the extra lights? I always wondered, why all that trunk lid only had back up lights, and none of the red stuff ever lit up. Anybody ever messed with that at all????Thanks!!!

I wired my empty tailgate lights to my running lights. I did have them configured for brake and running, but I would get sid messages stating brake light failure from time to time. The was most likely due to the inconsistant voltage in the extra bulbs in the brake circuit so I remove the mod for the brake light and left the running light on the tail gate. Its looks cool...
