brake bedding

Anyone have a link to this procedure or can give me a quick run down? Supposedly there is a tutorial but I can't find it. Is it necessary on the AXXIS Deluxe pads?

I bought my brake kit from Dave Z and followed his exact bedding instructions... works very well!

http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/wp...contents.shtml FTW. Goes into detail about why you are doing what you are doing when bedding in...

2 sets of 10? is this really necessary for OEM rotors and AXXIS pads? Luckily I have a pretty good setup for this by my condo. A paved back street that L's into the freeway.

No, not IMO. The Axxis pad instructions call for one set of eight stops, and you noted that you installed Axxis pads. It probably can't hurt, however. Do one set, and if you have good braking feel, that is it. If you want to do a second set, feel free. It isn't an exact science.

Well that was pretty fun lol. I got in 8 stops most from 60mph, definately felt the brake fade. Was careful not to use the brakes and went straight to the highway too cool down. Drove a couple miles then turned around. Between the scraping sound and me dropping the hammer then slamming on the brakes i think i scared a couple folks. This of course was on a backroad that had no other cars on it
