Funky smell on AC

I smell this funky smell when I first turn on the AC. but after a minute or two, it disappears. Any reason?

The same in my x ... even after i turn the AC of

there is leakage of A/C fluid in you A/C system. Have it checked by specialist.

I used to get a nasty smell from the AC in my E53. The dealer put some type of deodorizer in the AC system and voila, no more smell. There are a few threads here somewhere about DIY fixes.

That is most often the problem, and the cure, on most cars.

Now, rats in the heater is a lot worse. And expensive.
