Smile X5 4.4 aircon problem

Hi Guys

New to the forum and what a great forum it is..

Hope to use it more regularly.

Aircon is not working, all controls and fans work ok, had gas checked and it is full, compressor does not engage when turned on. Had compressor checked and it works and cools when a jump lead is used to create a circuit so it is not the compressor thank god. What other possibilities are there and should it be a quick fix??

Cheers

Slugger

check the water valve, also check the control, it might be the control fail.

Yep, sure did. I had to buy a complete control panel with all the switches and digital read outs etc. It simply unplugs and the new one plugs back in its place. I bought a used one off ebay in the US. Be very careful not to buy a used one from any other series other than X5 even though they may look the same the pins on the rear are not. Best of luck..

Isambard is an unknown quantity at this point
Steve, just to help others who might have similar issues in the future-how did you conclude that it was the control panel in the end? What faultfinding did you do?
