This seems to be a very common problem with BMWs and especially with X5s.
Did you own yours from new? If so was there never a vibrartion before 60K Miles? |

Had the same issue with my 05 4.4. Being under warrenty the Dealer investigated the problem to be the steering rack. My problem existed when i was stopped in drive without any load on the engine that drives up the idle. The dealer aso bumbed up the idle to the max limit ~25 rpm more. I was suprised that they were able to adjust the idle setting.

Engine moutings and gear box mounting. Replace them.

Had car from new, no vibes before 60k, just been quoted $750 for new engine and gearbox mounts, labor extra, ouch.
