Auto locking of doors as you move off
I've lived with this feature activated on my previous Explorer for the past 6 years, it annoys me that the X does not lock itself.
Can this feature be set DIY by the owner? |

Note, that if you choose to have tha auto-lock feature enabled, the doors do not unlock automatically. You will have to hit the central locking button everytime or double-pull the door handle to exit.

I just want to make sure that I don't forget to lock the doors. I have a teenage daughter who literally wants to "hit the mall running"... has this habit of trying to open the car door even before I finish parking.....urgh...kids these days!... wonder how long it will take her to discover the "double pull" thing. |

should be free if your X is still under the new car warranty...

THANKS! you said the magic word ("FREE"). I just called the local dealer (not the one I bought it from). While my appointment is not until next week, it appears they are more than happy to program the central locking and replace the broken cup holder clips under warranty! |

what do u mean by this? On my X the doors lock after i get to about ~5 mph but they do not all unlock when i turn the engine off. Do all the doors unlock auto after turning the key off? We have to do the double click or hit the center unlock button. My wife and i noticed that when we open all the windows and and moon roof w/ the remote then the drives seat will move so we have to push are memory buttons each time. I think it must be from the PO setting? Can each remote key be programed? Example: If my wife has a seat, steering wheel, and mirror setting on the seat memory and i have my setting can BMW program it to move to her setting if she presses her remote and the same w/ my remote key?
