First pads changed after 50k miles(although I wish I had changed earlier, for the brake dust). Rotors after 60k miles.
Not changing for the sake of changing, but because they need changing.

I figure brakes are coming up soon. I've been using dustless pads for quite a while but it's my guess that

I have reused rotors on occasion, but didn't feel it was worth doing so on my last few BMWs. If I had a brake noise problem I would have to go back in and do the brakes again and my time is worth more than a couple of rotors. Best performance in terms of handling heat will also be with new rotors.

My brake fluid may go a few months past 2 years, but not much. It is not worth trying to extend it, that is when you end up with seized calipers as the water collects in the lowest point of the system, behind the piston. No such thing as lifetime brake fluid, it is hygroscopic.

Does this mean that you bleed the lines completely from each calliper? - I thought about doing that but decided to stab myself in the eye instead...

To change the fluid, yes. While keeping the reservoir full.

Did you replace your pads and the worn through brake pad sensor(s)
Do you normally wait until there is almost zero brake pads left before you check?
You do realize that this thread has been dead for 6 going on 7 years right?
