Fogs without headlights?

Has anyone been able to wire their fog lights to come on without parking and or headlights on as well? The only way I've found people to do it is by deleting the parking lights all together, which is technically illegal but really hard to tell by passerbyers. Why can't I just work the fogs independantly I want to wire them to angel eyes..

my fogs can come on with only angel eyes on (and with parking lights before I install angel eyes) ... u just turn the knob one step to turn on the angel eyes or parking lights then u press the fog light button. I did not modify anything it was always like that

maybe the american cars are different

Because they are lights that are supposed to be used in fog, and in fog you are supposed to have your headlights on as well. In most countries it is completely illegal to use fog lights if there is no fog.

I think a simple jumper wire to supply power would do the trick. if you pull the entire assembly out, I bet you can figure out what it would take.

I was thinking about this my 1st day with the X.

if you want the Fogs on with out turnning on the park/head lights, you can do this.

tap the AE to the ignition
disconnect the fogs from original power supply and run NEW power line to the ignition (it will turn on when key turn on )

goodluck.
