It depends on how long you're planning on keeping your car. Remember that it doesn't matter if you don't have 50,000 miles on your car, as soon as you've passed the year restriction the warranty is over. If you're going to be keeping the car longer than 5 years then yes it might be worth it.

It is definitely the alignment. I can also say that you should be VERY specific with your dealer. Read up on alignments at www.tirerack.com. BMW has not only a specified range but also a specified tolerance. It is the specified tolerence to which the vehicle should be aligned (4-wheel alignment) not simply within the specified range.

My bet is that the front tires are toed in (pidgeon toed) which makes the outside shoulder wear faster than the rest of the tire and makes it hard to center on the lane. Do you have trouble centering it in the lane? What about when driving on the opposite crown of the road? What does that do to your ability to center the lane? Make sure they check out the thrust angle, toe, camber, and caster. My local BMW dealer aligned my car and it handled horribly. I took it to a body shop and to be fair they did get one measurement correct.....out of 14. Cheers!

Time for a front alignment. Possibly you can insist it came from the factory out of alignment and get BMW to pay for new tires. Good luck

Another question related to ur alignment is the difference between dry road and wet raod handling; any noticable difference? Handling characteristics are influenced by adjustments of tenths on mm in alignment on these cars.
