new shoes for my X

OK...its been a while since I've posted anything but I finally pulled the trigger on some new rims 87 and toyo tires. Here's the scope! I live in NorCal but travel down to SoCal. I've researched rims, new, used, replicas, etc...I opted for new and felt $2K was the limit. I saw an ad on craigslist and the pics looked decent. I called the guy and he seemed to know what he's talking about. When I arrived (in my rental car) Alen's shop was in a nice area (Glendale). His warehouse was well kept, organized and everything was well stocked...new rims in boxes and new tires stacked. The front display area was well kept and organized as a autodesign should be. His shop equipment was what I expected from a euro type mounting and balancing station. OK, I watched Alen and his shop guy mount and balance my tires (87 staggered) they were extra careful but it felt that they were doing a normal install, also Alen only mounts and balances when the customer is present. I had to take the rims and tires in my rental car...I had to drive back to NorCal and I studied the rims and tires...(6 hour drive), the rims were Italian made....(to be continued)

continued...

while driving home I was really able to review the rims, tires and mount and balance. Alen and his guy did a great job and the weights and mounting was perfect. There were no flawes with the rims front or back. I finally got home and weighed each rim vs. my stock 18"...the front 9.5 were 10lbs heavier and the rears were 12lbs...I anticipated that they were going to be heavier and was OK with the extra weight. They installed great and I was a little worried about the spacing issue but again Alen gave me great advice and directions..."use the OEM lug bolts and the rims were offset already..." I was so shocked!!!! IT LOOKED GREAT, AWESOME, FANTASTIC!!!. I can't believe what rims do to a X5...oh yeah I have the full air suspension...lower it BABY!!!

I normally don't give recommendations but Alen at SpeedVision in Glendale CA knows his stuff. I plan to pick up rim style #326? 22" with tires just for running around BLING BLING once in a while.

Again, I never knew Alen but now I'm a new friend/customer... he knows his stuff...Alen at SpeedVision in Glendale CA, 818-547-0696 or 818-321-9144. [email protected]

i am very glad to read this review, I too had seen speedvision's ad on craigslist and got in contact with them, they quoted me 1600 for style 87s and toyos. I am tempted now after reading your review to bite the bullet and do it!
