wife test drove an 06 3.0

this thing is loaded and has about 45k on the clock. nav, winter, smoker?, & prem. the deal looks good. i am actually a bit jealous as it seems to have more bellls & whistles than my 08. the truck appears to be a lease turn in. very clean.

with all the gadgetry on this truck, do i have any real concerns with known catastophic failures? i figure we are good but it never hurts to ask. thanks, steve

That is a lot of miles in 2 years--I doubt it is a lease return. I would shop one with less miles on it.

Not necessarily. 09 model year cars are going into production soon so it could very well be close to three years old. (Depends on the original in-service date. Many 06's were sold in 05)

Should be a good car. 3.0 may seem a little underpowered compared to a V8 but the M54 motor is just a late version of BMW's long running heritage of inline-6 motors that have been proven to be bulletproof with regular maintenance.

Yeah there's a possibility that it was built in late '05 but there are a lot of other '05-'06 X5s out there with a lot less miles.
