New Battery Tranny Kick gone, is this possible?
My X5 was having some starting issues so I replaced the original battery. I'ts been 3 weeks and no kick. I even tried to make it kick today. Could a new battery help or even solve the issue? I wouldn't think so but...

Interesting. I guess it's possible that some of the electronic gizmos and sensors might be affected by low voltage. I wish it was that simple a solution. Could be that disconnecting the battery resets the adaptation data. There have been reports that reseting the adaptation is a temporary fix. Keep us posted.

when you disconnect the battery, the clutch adaptations in the trans are lost.

Thanks guys. I have tried resetting stuff before with the key in position 2 and holding the gas pedal down but never noticed a difference. I will say that the truck seems to be driving differently. If you believe the tranny kick will return then I will be disconnecting the battery often.
