Saved by X5

Glad to say the X kept me out of the ditch today. I was on the highway driving 130 km/h to pass a large semi and made a sharp turn at about 120. When I put on the brakes it felt like the left rear locked up for a second and I was starting to lose the rear. But the X quickly got to work and straightened me out. Very happy I bought an x5 even though it has more problems then my ford explorer which has 400,000 km on it.

Yeah, it's nice to know the bells'n'whistles really work - the X5 is a tank, yet handles like a sports car, and it monitors all your systems to make sure they will work when you need them - it's the safest car I've driven in 40+yrs of driving - some of our members have found that out the hard way, but, thankfully, they've live to tell about it

Down at the Spartanburg plant I got a chance to drive their 2 off road courses and the skid pads - driving 70+mph on wet pavement, stand on the brakes and make a 90 degree right turn - the ABS worked great with complete control through the turn - it's really a great confidence boost to actually know what it can do

I totally agree with you. When driving the X I feel more comfortable then in any car. Once I drive the X5 the go to drive the ford it feels like the brakes aren't working. They are totally different then the x5's brakes.
