X5 into storage for winter

Guys,
I'm planning on storing my X for the winter in the next coming months. Is there anything that I need to do before I do this ? Is there some kind of a checklist ? Thanks for your help.

change the oil and air up the tires to avoid flat spots.

Put gas stabilizer in and fill the tank.

good ideas, gas stablizier, an oil change, and your car cover.

Of course, if you can, try and remove your tires.

Although my X5 is my winter rig, for my summer one I put the stock tires back on.

I'd also strongly suggest getting one of the battery chargers from your BMW dealer (or ebay) - especially if it's not used for over 2 weeks - There are some threads on this - the onboard computer (OBC) is always on monitoring your systems, thus there is always a drain on your battery - it's a simple box with a green & red light with two long leads, one plugs into the lighter, the other to a 120v socket - about $70-$80

tires will develope "flat spots" when sitting in the same spot for a long period of time - Griot's offer "cradles" (don't have a catalogue available, but they are online) you can place on the garage floor to park your vehicle in - supposedly they reduce flat spot from forming

no winter tire setup for the X5? or do you need something with greater ground clearance?
