Exclamation dead computer??

I finally got my chrome instrument cluster rings in, and installed them today. No problems there. However, when I plugged everything back in, the computer display is dead! I did not disconnect any fuses or battery when I did it, although the key was out of the ignition.

Non-nav, by the way.

Help!

It's a question of backtracking through your procedure.
Something WAS disturbed.

Just checked again. The A/C is out, and none of the gauges work. The instrument panel does light up, but none of the computer display. Also doesn't show up any computer data on the radio display (although the radio works). I will go check all the fuses shortly. I hope that is all it is. I really will hate to have to take it to the dealer to address this, if I can't figure it out!

Did you recheck your connections at the cluster?

Well, I thought I had them all tight. I checked all the fuses, which were fine. I then took the cluster out again, and yes, indeed, the white connector was flapping in the breeze. Snapped it in (properly, this time), and all is well.

Sorry I am so stupid.

we've all done that from time to time.. at least after you did the install, you didn't have a any spare parts remaining.. otherwise that would be bad news..

Maybe just coincidence, but maybe not. This morning, I had the "Service Engine Soon" light come on. Went off again in a couple of hours. No, I hadn't gotten gas lately, and I did check the gas cap.

Went by the dealership, who worked me in quickly. They checked everything, and said I had a variety of error messages, but none seemed "real". Said "One sensor must have sent a wrong message to the others, like a ghost". Reset everything, and said not to worry about it.

Could this be from the disconnected leads on the instrument cluster, or from me checking fuses?

BTW, here is a shot of the installed rings...
