Maintenance Package

I'm thinking of buying a maintenance package for my 05 X5 that will cover me for another 72 months or 100k miles for anything maintenance wise including oil changes, replacing the brakes, struts, etc.

My local BMW shop is asking $1695 and I think that's a great deal but is it?

OK deal, imo...remember that's a "maintenance pkg", not an extended
warranty; 2 very diff programs with very distinct coverages.

It is a pretty good deal just alone if you are going to have to replace brakes/rotors once, as that can cost over a grand on its own.

That is pretty much the price that is more or less acceptable. A lot of places will quote you higher, but I have not heard of anything lower than that. Combined with an extended warranty or CPO it pretty much covers all your bases.

NOTE! both warrantees only give 6yr/100,000mile protection from build date - I bought both for my '06 (which I picked up from the factory 04/06) - the extended warrantees were from the March build date, not from my p/u 14 April 2006. BEFORE the latest price increases, BOTH warrantees totaled ~$4000. one is for maintenance, one is for service
