A year or so ago I purchased one of these expensive "ultra white" (i.e. regular bulbs painted blue) bulb kits for the interior lights in the X5. Love the color, however, the light output is horrible. The one area that I really needed the brighter light was in the rear hatch area. So I purchased some LED bulbs from
www.autolumination.com and MAN, what a difference!!!! The light output is like 500x what the "ultra white" bulbs were. So, I am gradually replacing all the interior bulbs with these LEDs. Here are some rough pics of the door entry lights.
