hmmm

these are weld in. Easy if you have a lift, a welder and a pneumatic saw, none of which I have right now. First the stock 4.4 tips need to be cut off, then the new oem 4.8 tips welded to the muffler.
Yes these tips would fit on yours if you did exactly what I did. You could even have them out a lil further if wanted.

My 4.8is tips measure 146mm on the inside. If you measure the outside of your dual pipes, you will find out if they fit.
The hole in the rear bumper is the same on all X5s.My 4.8is tips measure 170mm on the outside ,so they will fit nicely!

It sounds like you want them out a little further... I noticed you keep hinting towards it. All in all, looks great. If I knew I could get this, I would have instead of the Racitve oval tips which are quite smaller than the 4.6/4.8is tips.

Do you need to remove the bumper to weld/install the tips on a 4.4?

No.

On a side note the fuckers at this shop in grand rapids (Muffler Man on 28th) decided to switch the position of my rear window wiper. Just to fuck with me I guess, jealous lil degenrates. Now the wiper tries to wipe the body under the window!!! lol So I have to take off the lil cap, unscrew the lil nut and pull and change it back. I cannot prove it, but with a car with only 4000 miles on it and having used the rear window wiper before, I can narrow it down. The truck is garaged and this was the only place it was left unattended. Also, in the process they managed to make a 2" scratch under the wiper arm. Goes right to the primer.

Will try and get the scratch out.

Not really much I can do b/c the lil punks there will deny it of course and I cannot conclusively prove they did it. I will probably just go down anyway. I am not a lil guy at all (5'11" 215ish @9% bf, I train with weights 5x week) and will go down and tell what I found and see who has any balls.

This should fit over your existing 4.4 tips so no welding is needed.

You have to remove the exhaust baffles then the 4.8 tips should fit over the bone stock tips. My round tips are from an aftermarket exhaust system and are too big so they had to be cut and the 4.8 tips have to be welded on.

Ok BreytonX5, thank you, I´m gonna to my BMW dealer in Bogotá. So, I did not understand one step; ¿I need to remove the original black tips and then weld the new ones over the stock tips? or fit it with a screws? I need to remove the rear bumper?
