Senter armrest
Hi i just bougt a 2001 x5, and i wonder if the storageroom under the phone is cold storrage? The lid is quit thick and it looks like small vents down inside. My instruksjon book is in German, and i cant find anything on this in your manual for 2001 on this site. Sorry about my English.

I too have a 2001, I think it's just vented. I don't beleive it's cold storage.

It's not a vent - it's a coin holder !!
However the air duct to the rear AC vent runs underneath and up the rear side of the storage container. So if you have the AC on and the rear vents set to cold with the rear fan on - then the storage will get cold!
