Side Mirrors Automatically Unfold

When I first got my 2005 4.4, I remember the side mirrors automatically unfold when I start driving if I don't remember to push the button to unfold them. At least that's how I remember. Now I'm not sure if I was just imagining things. They don't do that anymore. When I fail to unfold them with the button, they stay folded, even at speed. Those who have the remote folding mirrors, can you tell me if it supposed to automatically unfold when start driving? Thanks!

Here's my guess:

The mirrors are linked to seat amd steering wheel memory on the key you use. Try unfolding the mirrors and resetting seat memory for that key. Seat. mirror and steering wheel should return to the saved position each time the X is opened with the programmed key.

I see no mention in the manual that the mirrors will self deploy when driving.
