Need a new Cat Converter!

Anyone know of any good aftermarket Cats for an 04 4.4? I'd rather not pay the local dealer $2400 for OEM. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank goodness you don't have a 3.0 - NO aftermarket solutions for it (trust me, I know!!)

Good Luck!!

What did that set you back? Also, did you notice a decrease is power when it started going bad?

GOOG aftermkt Catalytic Converters...you'll get pages
of places...some here pump the oem, but unless you
are keeping the car for another 50K+ miles, who the
hell cares. Aftermkt should do fine, imo...

Mine were $2200 - plural bc there are 2, even on the 3.0. My mechanic said they typically use a Magnaflow aftermarket, but with the 3.0 the cats are right off the manifolds so it is difficult to use an aftermarket solution. I think you could use the MFs with the 4.4's.

I have run Car Sound (magnaflow) ones on may different set-ups. You can typically find them in the 60 dollar range.

I have run as set of these on my Lightning for over 35K. Pass every year too ...... Pick up some power, loose some weight, save a ton.

For your 3.o guys, You can cut the old converter flange off, bend a pipe and mount the converter a few inches down flow. You may have to extend wires on the 2 rear O2's.
