New X5 - Backup camera and other features not working

Hi Folks,
My new X5 (2008, X5 3.0si) is just six weeks old and yesterday my backup camera and iDrive menu were frozen multiple times and stopped working for couple of hours. Also, my memory settings (for seats and indicators) are also rolled back and stopped working for few hours. I have tried stopping/starting the engine thinking that the computer console will bring back all the systems clean but that didn't resolve the issue either. Few hours later, they started working by themselves. I called my sales rep about clarification and he asked me not to worry unless it happens frequently.

Do I have a defective camera and console? Has anyone noticed this problem (may be with relay switch or something) with their new X5s/other BMWs?

Thanks for your help.

Weasel will become famous soon enough
If it does it again I would bring it in and get in a loaner for them to figure out and fix it. Otherwise, if it never does it again, THEN don't worry about it. But keep in mind that the saleman is in no way a mechanic.

Thanks for the replies.

Yes, it happened more than once after i spoke to the salesman and i am taking service appointment today.

Also, thanks for directing me to E70 forum. I see similar issues posted by other members about new X5s.
