1-2 trans shift slow

On wide open throttle & very near that point, it seems that the trans holds 1st gear a bit too long, the rpms aren't going any higher, then it finally shifts. Other shift points are fine and this only happens

06 4.8is.

Any suggestions and does this sound normal to others?

Thanks.

Same here. I'm used to my old M3's instant shifts so this is kinda slow/disappointing. Especially 1 to 2 WOT shift as you mentioned.

Has anyone had luck changing the program settings for shift points for the sport setting in a 4.8is? Thanks

I've found that shifting at about 4k in 1st and then running out 2nd is faster than running all the way through 1st because at the redline it does hang, I've complained about that in the past but I think it's just the transmission

That makes sense - thanks. It seems that this hanging (I like the way you put it) adds un-necessary time to the 0-60 or 1/4. BMW would have heard about this before I'd guess, I'm going to check with the service advisor at the dealer see if he has heard of this.

At WOT mine shifts around 6500rpm. Doesn't matter what gear.
