it was the hood switch on mine. took it into the dealer the day after I noticed it. he said the alarm had gone off 29 times! Of course, I'm hard of hearing, so I never heard it.

Cause of the issue was the hood latch. It’s not connecting or contacting properly. The alarm system is thinking someone is trying to open my hood.
They are replacing the latch system and the hood sensor. That’s 213.00 bucks to the dealership and out of my checking account.

Thanks for posting this everyone. Definitely helped me get an idea what what it might be.

disable the motion alarm. (i think by clicking the lock button a few times) my alarm was going off and it was cause of a tiny moth.

We also have this problem few days ago when the wife drove the car out of the States 2k miles for a weekend trip, she kept calling me and complaint about the alarm problem, it keeps going off and she feel embarrass when people look at her.

We tried to disable motion sensor by press lock button twice and it still not work. Finally, I told her not to use the key to lock the car. She had to manual lock from the inside but exit rear door. The car does not goes off any more until she get home.

Now, the car's alarm does not go off any more after I disconnected the switch under the hood, removed it, took it apart, cleaned it, and reinstalled it.
