Brake pedal sticks just slightly when applying brakes
My "new to me" '05 X5 feels like the brake pedal has just a bit of a "stick" to it as I apply the brakes, like there might be a switch or something that needs lubed...? The brakes work okay otherwise. I usually apply the brakes very gently (I've always done that on all my vehicles). I suppose if I pushed fairly hard, it wouldn't be too noticed too much. Is there anything I can grease or lube, perhaps something in the linkage? I looked up under the dash and all I see is plastic...loads of plastic. Before I tear it all out, I wanted to know y'alls opinion. Thanks!! |

what do you mean by "stick" exactly? like it won't come back up after you press it in? or that it takes more pressure than you think is normal to push it in?
if you can better describe what you mean it would be helpful

To clarify: By "stick", I meant that it takes just a bit of effort to get past the first 1/8" of pedal travel. (almost feels like a "click", for lack of a better term). Once you get past that initial 1/8" or 1/4" of pedal travel then all is normal.
It comes back just fine after the brakes are applied, and braking is normal. It's just the feel of the pedal when I first start to press it in. |
