Home Link garage door opener - Cant program it!

I have followed all of the directions in the manual, and it wont program. The light flashes quickly as discribed (programing complete), but when I press the button to test it, nothing happens with the garage door. Has anyone elese had this problem?

Yes...your garage door opener has to have the "home" icon on the unit or the remote to work with the BMW system....Does yours have that mark on it? look in the manual for the icon mark. mine is a Sears "pos" that dose not have it and it no workie.

When I was programming mine, it seemed at first that it would not take. I think it was because I was not always pressing the button hard enough.

It works for my garage, but I could never get the second one, for my home, programmed even though I followed the instruction.
Watch out for the rolling code thingy for resetting your opener base.

Bye the way, I have a garage door opener for my dad's home he bought 2 yrs ago. The right side button opens his neighbor's garage door, which I opened accidentely opened theirs several time. Shall I tell them and offer to deregister my opener in question?

PRESS THE 1 AND 3 BOTTOMS SIMULTANIOUSLY FOR 20 SECONDS TO CLEAR ALL PREVIOUS RECORDED CODES.THEN PRESS THE BOTTOM NUMBER THAT YOUR WANT TO PROGRAM AND WHILE PRESSING ON IT FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS PRESS THE BOTTOM ON THE GARAGE DOOR OPENER YOU WANT TO PROGRAM FROM FOR 2 SENCODS AT THE TIME. DO NOT RELEASE THE BOTTOM FROM THE CAR UNTIL YOU HAVE PRESS AND UNPRESS FOR 2 SECONDS AT THE TIME AND FOR ABOUT 5-7 TIMES THE GARAGE DOOR OPENER. AND THIS WILL PROGRAM IT.

More than likely, your garage door opener has the rolling code feature. There should be a program button on your opener. Press it and then immediately press your programmed homelink button to "sync" the homelink device to your opener.

Good luck,
Daniel

I had the same issue. It finally worked when I held the original remote behind the rear view mirror (close to the windshield) while programing the BMW integrated remote.
