what to do on vacation?

I just was thinking randomly, what is the best thing to do for the X when you go away on Vacation? I remember seeing a thread about it in the past but I can't seem to find it now..

Is there anything special to do when you are going to leave a 4.8is parked for a week? How about a month?

Thanks!

I'm not that keen on cars but I think if it's made to stay for 10 or so years, it can handle a week's rest.

So a simple man's advice, park it away from the sun?

You're going on vacation?!?!?! Do you have someone lined up to report all of the spam posts in your absence?

E61Silver is an unknown quantity at this point
A week nothing, a month or more, gas stabilizer and a charger for the battery.

Haha not for a month or two, and I just happen to be awake at odd hours so it has become a hobby

What kind of charger would work? I have seen those ones that plug into the cigarette adapter advertised for trickle charging but I some reason I wasn't convinced.. Maybe its because I saw it advertised on a late night infomercial..

I parked my X in garage for more than 2 months a couple times in the past and it always started right up after I'm back. I think you probably don't need to do anything unless you leave the car used for a full season.

get the one at the dealer ($60-$80) - it's worked for me - given how bad an electrical hog the X5 is, I would not trust the battery to survive over a month - maybe if it's new, but definitely not if it is 3+yrs old - but then I err on the side of caution

for a week just leave it, unless you think that the battery is old and needs a trickle charger.

If you don't trust it to hold a charge, get one of these, they're THE charger to get:
