Failed Inspection : "Brakes do not hold"

So I failed inspection and been driving around with a red "REJECTED" sticker on the corner of my windshield.

Reason for failure: "Brakes do not hold"...has something to do with the eBrake

Anyone experience this before or have any info for me about fixing this at a reasonable cost

Thanx in advance

WHOAH! You guys go through inspection there in Jersey? Is this a state by state law? I have never gone through inspection here in California.

yea i think it is state by state so consider yourself lucky man...you breathe a lot cleaner air out there in cali, prob one of the reasons why inspection is required by law here

The e-brake will adjust automatically but you can tighten if you get cable stretch or other factors. Worsted case is you need new e-brake Shoes located inside the rear rotors. Not hard to DIY.

Read this http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/tech...Adjustment.htm

I've never done that before. The link is for the E36 3series but it should be the same on X.
