new battery

hi guys, i have just joined the forum ive been an x5 owner now since june and i think its fantastic. anyway i need to pick your brains with a small problem. i have just fitted a new battery as it was starting to get a bit lazy to start, but noticed the old battery doesn,t look that old although there isnt a lot of charge in it. any way after fitting new battery i have noticed that when sitting in the car the aircon unit is making a faint noise as if there is a motor runniing or something. i pulled a fuse no.34 and it stopped, i think this is drawing power from the battery. as it is doing it with the ignition switched of.
sorry for being a bit long winded but any help would be apreciated thanks.
